2013

Well of course I can't sleep. Lol. It's 1:11am Jan 1st and I'm trying to block out the fact that I'm leaving for Africa tomorrow so that my stomach will stop turning and I can actually get some sleep. Yeah, that's not happening. :) I spent the night with some of my favorite people on earth and that helped to pass the time but now alone in my room with nothing but quiet to listen to my mind is racing. I have no idea what to expect other than what Mandy has told me, but that's not enough. If you know me you know that I usually like a detailed plan to know what I'm getting myself into but I don't think anything can prepare me for what's about to happen in my life. I have fought back tears many times today thinking about what's about to take place. It's a bit overwhelming to be honest with you. The fact that I'm stepping out in gods will and fear has had no place in this is so amazing to me. I'm humbled that He's given me this opportu

When I graduated in 2003 God called me to a mission trip but I talked myself out of it; fear won. About three years ago a friend of mine went on the world race and the calling hit me again. I still fought it and again fear won. But as I was looking into the world race, I was watching a film and one of the countries they go to is Uganda and I was captured. God immediately spoke to me and said GO!  And I freaked lol. If you know anything about me, I am a very cautious person. Fast forward to last Oct and I'm s

Here we go!

Hello World! (or just a few friends that will ever see this :))  So I joined the blogging world.  I've always wanted to do this but always thought "who would want to read my thoughts?"  This Africa trip gave me a good reason to start.  So I just wanted to say hi and to make sure to subscribe to me.  I'll be blogging until I leave for the trip and while I'm there.  More to come...
